Scouting Report: Matt Spanos, C, USC

Matt Spanos has been a journeyman throughout his college career. What I mean by that is that the senior from the University of Southern California has played most every position on the offensive line until finally settling in at center in his last year. His build and size is what the scouts like in a player at his position; the lack of time that he has played in might be a negative, however. What a lot of people say about this young man is that he is a workhorse and he has the right frame of mind to continue improving even when at the next level.

Scouting Report

Pros: He has the skills and know-how to play all along the line, not just center.

Cons: Like the old saying goes, he could be the “jack of all trades, master of none” that is okay at everything, but not good enough at anything.

Overall: Playing on one of the best teams in the nation has not hurt him; I see this young man as a bust waiting to happen.
