Jackson signed the first of its 2008 draft picks on Thursday: seventh-round pick Chauncey Washington.
Washington, a Southern Cal running back who gained a team-high 969 yards with 10 touchdowns in 2007, was the only offensive player the Jags picked in the April draft. He joins a team that arguably has the NFL's top running back tandem in Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew.
Greg Jones is also re-signed, but the Jags are looking for depth at the position. It's also possible Washington could be a fit on special teams.
Terms for Washington's contracts weren't released.
