The Jaguars continued their tradition of granting undrafted rookies a shot Saturday by keeping cornerback Brian Witherspoon on the 53-man roster.
Witherspoon, who also returns kickoffs and punts, became the first undrafted rookie to make the squad since 2006. Others who survived the club’s league-mandated cuts include receiver Troy Williamson and running back Chauncey Washington, a seventh-round pick.
For the second-consecutive season — and just the second time in franchise history — the club opted to carry just two quarterbacks on the roster. Third-string QB Todd Bouman was among the cuts along with DE Kenny Pettway and WR D’Juan Woods.
