The sound of drums echoed from EverBank Field Saturday morning as people tried out for the Jaguars D-Line.
The drummers went through an American Idol style interview and performance test.
"We are the game-day experience," said coordinator Michael Patterson.
The Jaguars D-Line is in its eighth season, and team leaders say it's more than banging on drums at a football game.
"We're looking for a combination of talent and attitude," said Patterson. "Our culture here is very theatrical, while at the same time we do pay very close attention, we have a lot of focus on the notes."
Patterson says they're looking for talented drummers who play with passion. "They feel what they're playing, they're not just playing with their hands," added Patterson.
About thirty drummers attended Saturday's session. Patterson says he hopes to have the new D-Line lined up by Sunday. And hopefully, for football fans and the D-Line, there will be NFL football in the fall.
